Experienced

BridgePhase is a software engineering company focused on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. We support the Air Force’s pursuit of technological superiority by delivering modern DevSecOps platforms and cloud-native capabilities that enable secure, scalable, and resilient software delivery across the Department of Defense.

We’re looking for a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to join our team supporting the U.S. Air Force’s Platform One Big Bang product. In this role, you will help design, operate, and continuously improve a secure, consumable Kubernetes platform that enables mission software teams to deploy and operate applications efficiently across complex environments. You will work closely with platform engineers, developers, and security teams to deliver cloud-native infrastructure and tooling aligned with DoD DevSecOps objectives.

We are hiring for fully remote positions, with optional quarterly travel to San Antonio, TX or Colorado Springs, CO for in-person collaboration with the product team.

In this position, you can expect to:

  • Design, deploy, and operate highly available, scalable, and secure Kubernetes clusters and supporting infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain a consumable platform of open-source, cloud-native applications and tooling for mission software teams.
  • Build and enhance automation frameworks to streamline platform deployment, upgrades, and day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with development teams to architect and support CI/CD pipelines and workflows for containerized applications.
  • Implement and enforce Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, network policies, secret management, and security hardening.
  • Support complex Kubernetes use cases, including edge deployments and environments with intermittent connectivity.
  • Perform capacity planning, resource optimization, and performance tuning to ensure efficient platform utilization.
  • Partner with security teams to identify, remediate, and prevent vulnerabilities through audits and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging Kubernetes features, tools, and technologies, recommending enhancements to improve platform reliability and usability.
  • Document platform architectures, configurations, and operational procedures to support knowledge sharing and long-term sustainability.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker, including deploying, managing, and scaling containerized workloads.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and core components such as pods, services, deployments, replica sets, and namespaces.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Strong Linux/Unix systems administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience deploying and operating applications on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security concepts as they apply to Kubernetes environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting in Kubernetes environments (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production or multi-tenant environments is a plus.

As mission needs evolve, your expertise will play a critical role in strengthening the Kubernetes platforms that enable secure, scalable software delivery across the DoD. We’re looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges, embrace continuous learning, and are motivated by mission impact.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
