We’re looking for well-rounded engineers to join our growing team of DevSecOps and Cloud Infrastructure practitioners supporting the U.S. Air Force Unified Platform Software Factory. Based in San Antonio, the Unified Platform consists of a diverse group of industry experts that leverage agile methodologies and state-of-the-art DevSecOps practices to deliver rapid, impactful solutions to the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Cyber Command. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-native platforms and infrastructure. You'll focus on creating scalable, reliable, and secure systems using AWS services, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code principles. Ideal candidates are passionate about building robust, automated platforms that enable development teams to deploy and manage applications efficiently. We seek innovators who can balance technical expertise with a strong understanding of business needs to create solutions that drive organizational success.   

In this position, you can expect to:
  • Design and implement cloud-native architectures on AWS
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Build and optimize Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS, including networking, storage, and security configurations.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
  • Design and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch.
  • Develop and maintain Helm charts for application deployments on Kubernetes.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance measures across the platform.
  • Automate operational tasks and create self-service tools for development teams.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment processes and platform usability.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance the platform's capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in accordance with DoD standards such as NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, and the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design
  • Maintain and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure and cloud-based resources
  • Integrate DevSecOps tools and services to enable automated pipelines that support customer applications throughout their SDLC.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams and contribute to the development of DevSecOps strategies and roadmaps.
As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. We are looking for versatile engineers who thrive on new challenges and can readily adapt to additional responsibilities beyond those listed above.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Strong experience with AWS services and architecture best practices.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS.
  • Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and implementation in cloud environments.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
  • Familiarity with GitOps principles and tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) is beneficial.
  • Desire to work in a ‘badgeless” collaborative team environment consisting of Government clients, other Contractors, and Stakeholders
  • Strong desire to work in team environment and learn new skills
  • Active Secret Clearance is required
  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical degree or industry experience equivalent
  • This is a hybrid position - with both onsite and remote work supported.  All candidates must be local to the San Antonio area to support the onsite requirements.
